This year there are three summer concerts under the shady plane trees of the Bessunger Jagdhof with free admission. While the Förderverein Jazz e.V. is responsible for the selection of the musical guests, the Resto Bellville takes over the catering of the visitors with selected delicacies of the French cuisine.

The musical part is taken over by the quartet of Frankfurt drummer Thea Florea, who has maintained a lively but constant “working band” for many years with Bernd Stoll on saxophone, Ralf Cetto on bass and guitarist Kathrin Zuborg. The Thea Florea Quartet has released the albums “Afternoon’s Thrill” (Calygram, 2018) and “Surreal Days” (Bellaphon, 2019), which feature original compositions by Florea and Stoll, which are strongly based on the work of Wayne Shorter and Jack DeJohnette orientate. The quiet and differentiated sound of the quartet forms the basis for melodically strong group improvisations.

In diesem Jahr gibt es bei freiem Eintritt drei sommerliche Konzerte unter den schattigen Platanen des Bessunger Jagdhofs. Während der Förderverein Jazz e.V. für die Auswahl der musikalischen Gäste verantwortlich zeichnet, übernimmt das Resto Bellville die Bewirtung der Besucherinnen und Besucher mit ausgewählten Köstlichkeiten der französischen Küche.

Den musikalischen Teil übernimmt das Quartett der Frankfurter Schlagzeugerin Thea Florea, die seit vielen Jahren eine lebendige, aber konstante „Working Band“ mit Bernd Stoll am Saxophon, Ralf Cetto am Bass und der Gitarristin Kathrin Zuborg unterhält. Das Thea Florea Quartett hat die Alben „Afternoon´s Thrill“ (Calygram, 2018) und „Surreal Days“ (Bellaphon, 2019) veröffentlicht, auf denen Eigenkompositionen von Florea und Stoll zu hören sind, die sich stark an den Arbeiten von Wayne Shorter und Jack DeJohnette orientieren. Der ruhige und differenzierte Sound des Quartetts bildet die Ausgangsbasis für melodisch starke Gruppenimprovisationen.
